Sometimes, if there is a blockage or air in the tubing, the filter may have trouble getting enough siphoning power to start. We recommend that you plunge the filter to the bottom of the bucket and swish it around to get the air out. If that doesn’t work, we recommend that a short siphoning of the tubing will absolutely fix the problem.
Note: Please make sure the core filter is tight.

You will need to use a 5/8 paddle drill bit to make your holes.
Best to store it in room temp. Storage. Do not put it near extreme heat as it could melt the fibers. Do not freeze the filter as it would make the fibers brittle or burst. Do not expose the filter to long exposure to UV light as it will degrade the fibers.
Our filter is simple to maintain. We have eliminated the need to backwash the filter. To rinse and clean the filter, the only step is to take the Vivoblu shield off and vigorously rinse the filter in water. You can rinse the filter even in dirty water, or any water. It’s best to take the filter to a sink and just rinse under the pressured water. Please refer to our videos for more illustrations of how to rinse the filter.
We recommend to rinse the filter when ever you experience slower flow rate. This means that the filter is not performing at it’s maximum capacity and needs cleaning.
